KTXA/GROOM LAKE — HOMEY

Some airfields are on the sectional. Others officially don't exist.

Hidden inside the Nevada Test and Training Range, Groom Lake- better known as Area 51- has been associated with some of America’s most secretive flight-test programs—from the U-2 and A-12 to generations of classified aircraft that followed. This design pairs a Groom Lake–inspired airfield diagram with the Air Force Test Center, Detachment 3 chest patch—a nod to the people, aircraft, and desert runway behind decades of black-world aviation history.

No aliens required. The airplanes were interesting enough.
